McMillans of Metung Resort

McMillans is dedicated to ensuring that each of its guests has the setting, space, and service they need to make their vacation a truly memorable experience.

McMillans of Metung Resort’s commitment to its guests is also reflected in its being an Accredited Tourism Business. Leading Australian tourism operators display the accreditation tick. We have met specific criteria ensuring we are committed to meeting, and if possible, exceeding your expectations with great customer service and the highest standards of business practice.
McMillans of Metung is an award-winning resort that was founded by John and Kaye McMillan in 1980, and officially opened by Slim Dusty in 1981. McMillans originally began as a group of eleven cottages, and Kaye and John built the clientele up over many years, bringing their wonderful style to the resort and their commitment to outstanding customer service to every guest.

The uniqueness of the resort and focus on customer service led to McMillans being awarded nine Victorian and two Australian Tourism Awards.

In 2005, steeped in 25 years of excellence, the business was bought by Brett Neilsen, a businessman well-known to the Latrobe Valley-Gippsland-East Gippsland community. Brett further developed the resort, building nine magnificent villas across the top of the property to create a total of 20 villas and cottages.

Ensuring that our accommodation is always superbly modern and comfortable is a defining feature of the resort. The latest works include the expansion of the cottage balconies and the recent interior renovation of the original cottages.
