Kalari Wines

Kalari is a family owned, boutique vineyard located on the banks of the Lachlan River in Cowra, 300km west of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

The vineyard was established in 1995 with the planting of Chardonnay, Verdelho and Shiraz grapevines, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Semillon in 1997.

Kalari, the name adopted for our wine label and vineyard, was first used by the Wiradjuri who occupied the area before white settlement. It was their name for the Lachlan River.

To be distinctive, Kalari has prided itself in producing four very different styles of wine from the Verdelho grape variety – a light, elegant dry wine, a semi-sweet table wine, Fortelho, the first fortified wine produced by a Cowra vineyard, and also a dessert wine.

As well as Verdelho, Kalari produces Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet.

The range of Kalari wines may be tasted and purchased at our Cellar Door, found nestled amongst the vines, or you can order wine by fax, phone, e-mail and post. Also available from selected stores.
